Abstract

Abstract:  Early childhood refers to children aged 0-6 years who are in their golden age. This golden age in children must be stimulated to the maximum so that children can develop optimally.  In this modern era, there are more and more dual career families. As a result of both parents working, the time for parents to interact with their children is reduced, so that the psychosocial development of early childhood is less stimulated. This results in the child's psychological abilities and social skills not developing optimally. The objectives of this study are: 1) To determine the condition of dual-career families at PAUD SBSM 5 Gombak, 2) to determine the psychosocial development of young children at PAUD SBSM 5 Gombak, and 3) to determine the influence of dual-career families on the psychosocial development of young children at PAUD SBSM 5 Gombak. This study employs a quantitative method with a descriptive correlational approach. The research sample uses total sampling with 30 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive analysis, and hypothesis testing was performed using Pearson's correlation test with the assistance of SPSS 30.00. The results of the study indicate that: 1) Dual-career families at PAUD SBSM 5 Gombak are mostly still in the moderate category, meaning that many parents who work outside the home lack awareness in interacting with and educating their children, and vice versa; 2) The psychosocial development of early childhood education students at SBSM 5 Gombak is in the good category, namely BSB and BSH, indicating that most children are developing in accordance with their age stages. However, the MB and BB categories, which are numerous, indicate the need for special attention to the psychosocial development of preschool children; and 3) Statistical tests show a significant relationship between dual-career families and the psychosocial development of young children (sig. 0.001 < 0.05). The Pearson correlation coefficient value of -0.876 indicates a very strong but negative relationship, meaning that as the dual career family value increases, children's psychosocial development tends to decrease. Regression analysis shows that a 1% increase in the dual career family value results in a 1.023 decrease in children's psychosocial development.

0,001 < 0,05).
